The township has a new sister and she is 1,552 years old. The sister is the town of Carpegna, Italy, and Mayor Angelo Francioni met with his American counterpart, Mayor Rob Greenbaum, in ceremonies on Wednesday, June 27, celebrating the two sister cities.
The celebration of the new relationship was held at town hall and at the Fratelli Beretta, USA Inc. plant at the International Trade Center. The company's major U.S. production plant is in Mount Olive and there is another large plant in Carpegna. Carpegna was founded in the year 466.
