The Italian Club of Staten Island Foundation held its annual food drive Friday inside Christ United Methodist Church in Graniteville to help feed the hungry during the holiday season. Every year, the 65-year-old organization raises money from its members to pay for assorted food items that go to families around Staten Island who need a helping hand.
"There are always at least 300 people in need of these resources on Staten Island," said the food drive's director, Jim Maleady. "It's real sad. But the club -- along with some donations from elected officials -- makes this happen."
