Committee grateful for Cayuga Museum help with immigrant exhibit

The recent Cayuga Museum exhibit, Becoming American: The Italian Immigrant Experience in Cayuga County, was an exceptional example of a community working together to present a program that highlighted our unique journey of hope and success in America. Although the story was about Italian-Americans, it was a narrative about all immigrants who travel to America seeking a better life for their families.
 
As the exhibit’s planning committee, we want to acknowledge and to thank the community members who donated their time, money, and talents to make this exhibit so poignant. Visitors were impressed with the scope and the power of memorabilia and how it triggered a fresh look at our family histories. We, therefore, owe a special gratitude to all of the people who entrusted the museum with these precious memories. Their generosity brought honor to all of our families and our community.
