Everyone says their grandmother’s cooking is the best. But what will grandmothers be cooking twenty years from now?”  It was this simple yet profound question that, over a decade ago, inspired British producer Vicky Bennison to create Pasta Grannies, a project dedicated to the art of handmade pasta, Italian home cooking, and most of all, the women who keep these culinary traditions alive through quiet, practiced gestures passed down over the decades.

Together with her husband, Billy Macqueen – a television producer best known for creating children’s shows like Teletubbies – Bennison bought a house in the Marche region, in central Italy, about fifteen years ago. From there began a passionate journey through the Bel Paese, full of travel, family stories, and simmering pots.
