In the new episode of the show I present the story of Pietro Catelli, founder of the globally renowned brand of childcare products Chicco. While investigating his innovative approach to childcare as a complex relational ecosystem at the intersection of medicine, pharmaceutical research, and day-to-day parenting,
I also explore his own experience as a father, which is behind the success of both his brand (Chicco was actually the nickname of his firstborn son) and the toy horse museum which he established near his company at the end of his life. This reflection on fatherhood led me to consider and discuss the many father-son stories of Italian innovators and artists. Watch the episode HERE.
What can a father give a child? The gift of Chicco
* The fathers of great Italian innovators and artists (“like father like son” cases; the influence model; accidental gifts)
* The gift of a chicco. Pietro Catelli’s gift to his son Enrico and the deeper meaning of “chicco”
* How Chicco became the global leader in childcare products * An integrated approach. Building not the parts, but the ecosystem of a child’s life
* At the intersection of medicine and fashion, pharmaceutics and design, pediatrics and parenting. A model of innovation which “looks inward to look forward”
* Catellli’s toy horse museum. A world of meaning in a toy. The gift of imagination
* A special dedication to my own father
