Almost 36 years ago, in 1980, the Irpinia earthquake caused the closing of Pompeii's Antiquarium and the site's world-renowned archeological museum was forced to lock away in its warehouses its immense treasure made of statues, casts, amphorae, votive ornaments and so on.
A few days ago, all these objects were finally brougth back to light and exhibited to the public in a multimedia museum that lets the visitor experience the atmosphere of the ancient city of Pompeii and the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius that buried Pompeii in ash, preserving it forever.
