Expo Milano 2015 is an important challenge for the Italian agro-food industry and for Maurizio Martina, the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, who demonstrated his belief in the strategic role of the Exposition by immediately giving it a strong push.
CAPPARELLI: Minister, do you think Expo starting May 1 could signal a new role for Italian agriculture and its agro-food industry?
MARTINA: I am convinced that 2015 could be a turning point for the "Made in Italy" agro-food industry. We want to best take advantage of the six months of Expo to show off our qualities, our innovative capacity and our technological know-how even in this field. We will welcome millions of visitors that could live the Made in Italy experience at the Palazzo Italia, in the Wine Pavilion and in the Agro-Food Pavilion, as they can in all of the spaces and the events where Italy will be the protagonist. We will present over 400 start-ups, there will be many events that centre around Italian wine and food. It is an opportunity that we will not miss.
