Springtime everywhere means a revival: of nature, of colors and fragrances that re-awake the spirit from its winter slumber. Perhaps this is no more so the case than in Italy, and particularly in Tuscany, with its unique and resplendent natural endowments.
In a 1,800-hectare expanse between Pistoia and Florence, the Padule di Fucecchio is Italy's largest interior marsh, and it is in part protected by two diferent nature reserves.
The Padule, with its peculiar weaving of landscapes, rare fauna and intriguing history (tied to the sagas of the area's most important families, the Medici and Lorena).
