
"Sicily can become a clean energy hub for Europe. Not only does this island have sun and wind in abundance: it also has a solid industrial base in the clean technologies. Sicily is crucial for energy transition also for another reason. A few miles from your coastlines there is what may become another giant for clean energy: the African continent".
These are the words delivered by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, from her speech at the University of Palermo. "The time has come for a new strategic pivot to Europe toward the Mediterranean", she highlighted.
