In the manufacturing triangle between Bologna, Modena and Reggio Emilia where biomedical, ceramic and food excellences intertwine, the long recession has resulted in a healthy natural selection of the market by weeding out the weakest players.
Today there are fewer companies in this heartland of the Emilia region but they are more efficient, according to a study by Nomisma commissioned by Sanfelice 1893 Banca popolare.
