Yesterday, Spain and Portugal were hit by a massive blackout that lasted for several hours, causing major disruptions. While Italy was not affected by this incident, 23 years ago, the country experienced a similar event.
On the morning of September 28, 2003, Italy woke up in complete darkness: the largest power outage in its history had paralyzed nearly the entire nation between the night of September 27 and 28, leaving the country without electricity for hours.
