In an era driven by technological excess, Massimo Banzi describes Arduino not as a specific technology but as a "formula" for applying technology. Arduino is based on the philosophy of "just enough technology," offering the right technology at the right time, without unnecessary features. In contrast to the obsession with constantly advancing technologies, Arduino focuses on simplicity as its strength, making complex technology accessible and understandable to everyone.
The story of Arduino began in 2005 in Ivrea, Italy, when five friends -Massimo Banzi, David Cuartielles, Tom Igoe, Gianluca Martino, and David Mellis - met at a bar and decided to create something revolutionary. They named their project after the bar, unknowingly setting the stage for a global transformation in technology.
