Mario Gentile signed a lease at 1657 Richmond Road back in the summer. The address recently played home to the former Espana Royale in Dongan Hills. Now, it becomes Mario's Restaurant with his take-out section, Mario's To-Go, ready to open right next door.
Right after the New Year, job applicants came for an interview over two days at Mario's in a cattle call of sorts. And, finally, now with a staff in place, the chef/proprietor finally opened for business on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
