Popular Staten Island Italian restaurant evolves under new ownership while remembering its roots

By: Pamela Silvestri

Since Bella Mama Rose reopened under new ownership in late May, the Elm Park kitchen’s routine revolves around pizza, pasta and cutlets. And that’s why proprietors Ashley and Justin Rose decided their mantra would be just that — Pizza. Pasta. Cutlets.

Justin emblazoned his ball cap with those words. While it was coincidence that the Roses and their partner, Joe Casaletto, took over the restaurant with “Rose” in its already established name, Justin felt it was “meant to be.” And Ashley decorates the dining rooms with flowers — roses included.
