Once-Heralded Italian Restaurant A Voce Shutters Its Final Location

The remaining location of longtime Italian fine dining destination A Voce has ended its tenure. After 13 years, the restaurant’s 41 Madison Avenue location across from the park closes for good Friday night. Parent company MARC, a London-based group from prolific restaurateur Marlon Abela, released a statement saying that it’s part of “a reorganization of its global operation” to open more restaurants that will vie for Michelin stars. The space may be transformed into a different restaurant run by the company, which runs two Michelin-starred places like The Greenhouse in London.

A Voce has been home to some of New York’s finest Italian dining talent. Chef Andrew Carmellini once helmed the kitchen. Heralded pasta master and Lilia proprietor Missy Robbins also ran the food operation at A Voce at one point too, including opening the now-closed Columbus Circle location. Under her tenure, both locations earned a Michelin star.
