New Business: Giuliano's Prodotti Italiani provides a taste of Italy on Staten Island

In his pursuit of the American dream, Salvatore Giuliano came to the United States from Siracusa, Italy in 1980. "He wanted to give his three daughters the best life possible. He felt America had endless opportunities for his girls," said Sandra Giuliano, his daughter.

Though he sought a new life in America, he was insistent upon keeping some traditions from "the old country" alive. For example, he and his wife, Francesca, raised their children the old-school way with fresh cooked meals every day, including those that consisted of homemade pasta, raviolis, calzones, pizza and more Italian delights.
