Osteria di Al up and running in new downtown Cleveland location

By: Marc Bona

Osteria di Valerio e Al spent almost 20 years quietly serving fine Italian food in its nook on W. St. Clair Avenue. It closed in November, but owner Al Cefaratti isn't packing it in or slowing down. Trim and 64, the Cleveland native is moving forward with the next incarnation of the restaurant, at the perpendicular intersection of Walnut and E. 9th Street, located across from Marbella event furniture and décor rentals.

It opened before the end-of-year holidays in the space formerly occupied by One Walnut and most recently Porcelli’s Italian Bistro. He teamed with Valerio Iorio for Valerio's in Little Italy before the St. Clair location opened in 2001. "I can do weddings, I can do a lot more that I couldn’t do before," Cefaratti said.
