Almost 10 years after the opening of their first location, locally-owned bakery Amelia’s expanded to a second location last month in Windsor Park, located at 1637 Nowland Avenue. The Italian-style bakery features fresh-baked bread and pastries, made from scratch daily, according to their website.
Amanda Drozd, the store manager, said this location was inspired by the desire to create more of a coffee-shop style hangout for visitors; compared to the smaller, original location in Fletcher Place, which has no indoor seating and resembles more of a bodega, she said. “We wanted to provide a more community-style establishment for people,” Drozd said. “We wanted to have a place where people could sit and hang out.”
