On the occasion of the sixth Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Embassy of Italy in Washington and the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington present the documentary series ‘Italian Markets’. Available from 15 to 21 November, the documentaries will take viewers to the cities of Turin, Florence and Palermo, amidst their colours, aromas, people, sounds and flavours.
Markets are the navels of cities. They are urban spaces that have been radically transformed but which are still the beating heart of the economy and the symbol of the city and its local area. By telling the stories behind each product on display, it is possible to find out about the wonderful places they come from. The documentaries were produced by Stefilm, Arte and ZDF.
