The more-than-century-old Tosca Cafe has landed in a temporary new home this summer in a space with a long history of its own. After a brief run as a takeout-only spot in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood during the early days of the pandemic, the restaurant has set up tables outside the landmark church that now houses art venue Saint Joseph’s Arts Society in SoMa.
Reservations are required for the temporary Tosca, with two dinner services available from Thursday through Saturday. Tosca’s page on the reservation platform Tock now directs diners to the new outdoor space, which hosted its first dinner on July 16.
