Ardley Hanemann is President of Cabrini High School. Cabrini, an all girl school located on Moss Street across from Bayou St. John, has a long history in the Crescent City. The school's origins trace to 1892, when Archbishop Francis Janssens requested that Mother Cabrini come to New Orleans to help the City's many Italian immigrants.
Mother Cabrini, who was the first woman to establish a missionary order of women, was canonized in 1946, the first saint in America. In 1959, Sister Aloysius, a Missionary Sister of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, opened Cabrini High School in the buildings that originally housed Mother Cabrini's Sacred Heart Orphan Asylum.
