Grand Tour, the history
Three hundred years ago, wealthy young Englishmen began taking a post-Oxbridge trek through France and Italy in search of art, culture and the roots of Western civilization.

With nearly unlimited funds, aristocratic connections and months (or years) to roam,
they commissioned paintings, perfected their language skills and mingled with the upper crust of the Continent. (from the New York Times)

Grand Tour Today
In 2014, curious and adventurous Houstonians will begin taking a trek through Italy's regions in search of the perfect combination of food and wine for their taste buds.

With a comfortable limo and few weeks to roam, they will hop from one venue to another, perfect their command of obscure Italian words and mingle with like-minded souls. Participants can join the Grand Tour right here in Houston.
