The Italian group, Danieli, has been selected by Nucor Corporation, a leading North American steel producer with a growing international presence, to build a new plant in Mason County, in the state of West Virginia. The order, for automation technology and machinery, is worth more than 650 million US dollars.
This is the most significant order in the steel sector for the last 20 years and is a recognition of Danieli Automation’s innovative technology, based on artificial intelligence. The new Nucor mill will be completed by the end of 2024. It will use QSP-DUE hot-strip and cold-strip technology with fully automated processes and extremely high safety standards.
