Fiat diversifies to take aim on American market

Diversity works with motor vehicles as well as people. Consider Fiat, the Italian manufacturer now melded tightly with America's Chrysler. Though plenty of Chrysler products are available - some with Fiat components and design - so far the only Fiat here is the subcompact 500.


It's a little water bug of a two-door hatchback with a low price, high driving enjoyment and good fuel economy, but unknown long-term reliability.
