Anthony Marrone, Chief of the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACFD), is an Italian American who embodies the values of commitment, resilience, and service to the community. Los Angeles is facing the most devastating fires in its history. Under Marrone's leadership, the department is coordinating efforts to fight fires across more than 300,000 acres.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Marrone comes from an Italian-American family. His grandparents immigrated to the United States in the 20th century, bringing with them the values typical of Italian tradition: a sense of family, hard work, and the importance of community. The Marrone family has always been deeply involved in social causes, which strongly influenced young Anthony. It is thanks to these teachings that he developed his passion for public service, leading him to pursue a career in the fire service.

Marrone joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department in the early 1990s and quickly climbed the ranks, demonstrating great competence and leadership skills. His innovative approach led to the introduction of new technologies and firefighting techniques, improving the safety of firefighters and the effectiveness of operations. His rise culminated in his appointment as Chief of the LACFD in 2023.
