Queens Councilwoman Vickie Paladino was among the local officials to attend the co-naming of 149th Street at 12th Road in Whitestone to Associazione Sacchesi D’America Way on Aug. 2. Paladino sponsored the co-naming to honor the Associazione Sacchesi D’America, an Italian-American civic and cultural group.
“It was a huge honor to facilitate this street co-naming as an Italian-American who was born and raised in Whitestone,” Paladino said. “The association has been a prominent organization within our community for over 100 years and it’s important that we recognize the roots of our neighborhoods and the people who made us what we are.
