On December 5th, the group will discuss Canto X of the Inferno-an important Canto that should keep us busy for longer than most, and we can expect to still be working on Canto X at the December19th meeting. The group reads the Canto aloud for the pleasure of the Italian language explaining the text terzina by terzina in standard Italian and discussing any issues of interest in the text.We already have a schedule in place taking us to December 16, 2020.This is not a scholarly academic program but is designed for lovers of Dante, Italy and the Italian language.
No particular text is necessary. All the different notes and translations make the discussion more interesting. Everyone, of all ages and backgrounds, is welcome. Members of the academic, cultural and publishing communities and native speakers are particularly welcome. All of the discussions in the Dante reading/discussion group is 100% in Italian.
