Councilman David Carr announced the revival of the NYC Council’s Italian Caucus this week, along with six of his colleagues in the Council: Minority Leader Joseph Borelli (R-Staten Island), Councilwoman Joanne Ariola (R-Queens), Councilman Justin Brannan (D-Brooklyn), Councilman James Gennaro (D-Queens), Councilman Robert Holden (D-Queens), and Councilwoman Vickie Paladino (R-Queens).
Last week the caucus met for the first time via Zoom and unanimously elected Carr as chair, he is half Italian through his mother’s side. “I was raised by my mother and grandparents to be proud of my Italian roots and to have an appreciation of the culture and heritage of my forbearers,” said Carr.
