SAVE the New Britain Columbus statue!

SAVE the Christopher Columbus statue in New Britain, Connecticut! Please sign this petition and show your support to keep this historic monument at McCabe Park. The Columbus statue has served as a symbol of Italian-American heritage and pride since its original unveiling at this site in 1941. The statue was originally commissioned and paid for through many donations from citizens, later being transferred to the City of New Britain.

While the history of Columbus may not be perfect (or the truth completely known today), we must equally recognize that history should never be rewritten or erased. Statues and monuments should serve as reminders of good and bad moments to learn from and move forward to a brighter future.
