The annual Festa Italiana will be held Friday through Sunday at Freedom Hill Park in Sterling Heights. Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. Friday with a Parade of Italian Clubs, with Dino Valle, emcee. Headlining the entertainment will be Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti, Aaron Caruso and Ray Massa & The Euro Rhythms. Also featuring live performances by Mark Randisi, Pino Marelli, Tre Bella, Belilini Opera, The Sicilian Tenors, Michigan Accordion Society and more.
On Saturday, at 2:15 p.m. the Frank J. Palazzolo Memorial "Judges Judging Meatballs" Contest will be held. The Italian American Idol Contest will be held Saturday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in four age groups: Up to 8 years, 9-12, 13-17 and 18+.
