This is it! It is 7:30 a.m. on October 12, 2015. As the buses depart from Casa Italia we cannot believe it is Columbus Day once again. Each year the love, the enthusiasm, and the excitement exceed the previous year. The treat of the parade being on State Street is the dominant thrill.
We are on our way to the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, the spiritual home of the Italian-American community, for 9 a.m. Mass, celebrated by Father Fragomeni. Our traditions are awe-inspiring.
