Food, fun and entertainment are on tap as the 25th annual Tuscarawas County Italian-American Festival opens Friday and continues through Sunday in downtown Dover.
The purpose of the festival is to promote and preserve the Italian heritage and establish scholarships for the students of Tuscarawas County.
This year, 17 students from Tuscarawas County were scholarship winners and they will attend the Mayor's Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School to receive their awards. The breakfast traditionally kicks off the three-day festival.
