The event will be held on Sunday, March 31, beginning at 1 p.m. at Cooper's Seafood House, 701. N. Washington Ave., Scranton. The Poli Historic Gallery will pay homage to the history of what is now known as the Ritz Theater. Founded by Sylvester Poli, an Italian immigrant from Lucca, Italy, in 1907, the Poli Theater was the second largest of its kind in the United States and was where many legendary performers debuted, including George Burns and Gracie Allen, Joan Crawford, The Marx Brothers, and Jack Benny. Harry Houdini also performed on stage at the Poli Theater.
Leadership Lackawanna’s mission is to enhance the skills and knowledge of emerging professionals in northeastern Pennsylvania through premier leadership development programs, enabling them to better serve their organizations and communities.
