The Plainfields' Chapter of UNICO was joined by UNICO District X Governor Anthony Bengivenga in swearing in Joe Belardo, a Vietnam veteran and recipient of many honors not only for his heroic work during the war, but also for his volunteer work for countless veteran organizations.
Joe Belardo won the 2019 Lou DeFillipo Armed Services Freedom Award at last summer’s UNICO National Convention in Nashville. A World Ward II hero, the late Lou Defillipo was a lifelong resident of South Plainfield and UNICO established the award in his honor.
