Restoration of the Romaggi Adobe. Saving our Italian Heritage

Jun 17, 2017 2433

A major fund raising effort has begun in order to save one of California's oldest adobes, built in Angels Camp in 1851, by Italian Immigrant James Romaggi. Restoration of the historic Romaggi adobe and its rebirth as a regional museum and Italian cultural center is the central mission of Adrian Nestor, Chairman of the non-profit foundation.

Significant improvements have been made in recent years, including new roadway access, Emergency structural reinforcement, as well as fulfilling many of the various state, county, and local requirements. This letter contains the link to a newly created video which we hope will explain the importance of saving this significant example of an Italian-American's contribution to the development of California. We urge you to forward this link to your organizations members and share with them this important project “Save the Romaggi Adobe” is supported by the named officers of many major Italian-American Organizations.
