Webinars for K-12 Teachers

Jan 05, 2015 1376

The Italian Teachers Association of New Jersey is sponsoring two Saturday morning webinars on Saturday, January 17, 2015 and Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Participants will receive two Professional Development Credits for each webinar and certificates will be emailed to you after each webinar. Our featured presenter is Suzanne Branciforte, Director of Study in Italy and author of the best-selling textbook, Parliamo Italiano.

Our first webinar, "Scialla: Taking it easy with the language of young people", to be held on Saturday, January 17, will focus on 'il gergo dei giovani' or the everyday language commonly used by Italy's youth. Suzanne will guide us through the cultural norms and practices of the special language created by young Italians, of which young Americans crave knowledge. Attend this webinar to learn both these special expressions and how to use them in your classroom.

Our second webinar "Che mondo sarebbe senza Nutella?" to be held on Saturday, February 21, explores using authentic Italian advertising to teach Italian. The world is smaller through the internet, but attend the webinar to learn and see new products and advertising which Italians are exposed to daily. What Italian music is popular among our youth? Attend the webinar as this will also be discussed.

Please see our attached flyer with Webinar details.

You can register for one or both webinars on the ITANJ website, www.itanj.org. Each one and half hour webinar begins at 9 am on Saturday morning. Attend one webinar for $35.00 or both webinars for $60.00. Information about rendering payment is on our website, www.itanj.org. Registration deadline for January webinar is January 9 and Feb 13 for February webinar. A personal access code and a dial in number will be issued to registered participants a week in advance of each webinar. You will be able to test your computer in advance of the webinar.
