In a market that has become more globally, the risk of counterfeiting of the excellence is always alive, especially for Made in Italy. However, thanks to technological innovation that allows us to identify and trace the origin and quality of the products, the quality industry can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The first sector that strongly wanted to protect Made in Italy was definitely food, thanks -for example – to the work of "Slow Food" that has long committed to the promotion of healthy food that is good and right and that in more than 10 years has awarded 224 "Presidi Italiani" (Italian Defense), a guarantee for the protection of biodiversity, land and commitment to native small producers (farmers, fishermen, butchers, shepherds, cheesemakers, bakers, confectioners) who adopt sustainable and clean production practices.
Since a few years, however, there is a buzz in the system of protection of quality assurance. It's called RF-ID (Radio Frequency Identification) and allows automatic identification of objects, but also animals and people (AIDC Identifying and Automatic Data Capture), thanks to the ability of special electronic devices (tag) data storage, managed through a dedicated software interactive with the operating system of the internal network through fixed or mobile devices.
Initially used in the food industry for product identification and verification of traceability, the RF-ID system has been introduced for the first time in another symbolic area of Italian excellence: fashion. The pioneeristic intuition defending Made in Italy is Mauro Gasperi's idea, stylist and fashion entrepreneur.
This system makes possible to identify and trace the product also guarantees about the origin of the raw materials used in the construction, the processing and the production of the product.
It is also another tool for the Italian companies which want to give value to the uniqueness of the product Total Made in Italy, giving the clients the opportunity to learn about the history and reconstruct the true value of the Italian excellence.
