Do not expect any "Daddy Dearest"-style revelations from Deana Martin. The singer considers herself blessed to be one of Dean Martin's eight children. "He was good at everything," Martin says about her dad. "He's just classic and timeless. The only negative thing about having him as a father is that we had to share him with the world, which was fine. I'm very proud to be Deana Martin with an 'A.' "
She's not exaggerating. Dean Martin was a superstar who really could do it all. He was a fine actor, both in comedies and dramas. He was a natural on TV, with NBC's playful "The Dean Martin Show" serving as a virtual cocktail party for nine seasons. Paired with Jerry Lewis, the duo became comedic royalty.
