Sons of Italy Foundation® 2016 National Leadership Grant Competition Begins

Nov 20, 2015 535

Through the Sons of Italy Foundation® (SIF), the Order Sons of Italy in America® (OSIA) has awarded nearly $59 million in scholarships to date. In past years, the SIF has offered 10 to 12 merit-based scholarships (National Leadership Grants), ranging from $4,000 to $25,000, in a nationwide competition. These figures and the number of scholarships may vary according to funding this year. Applications are screened by education professionals. Final selection is made by OSIA's National Education Committee. Scholarship recipients only will be notified of their award. Monetary awards are presented directly to students' academic institutions in accordance with eligibility requirements.

General Eligibility

U.S. citizens of Italian descent (at least one Italian or Italian-American grandparent) enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a four-year, accredited academic institution for the 2016 Fall term.

Previous SIF scholarship winners are not eligible. Please note: Additional eligibility requirements may apply to specific scholarships. See requirements for general study scholarships and special scholarships.

General Guidelines

The SIF scholarships offered through this program require an application packet that includes: an application form, official transcripts through the December 2015 term, official standardized test scores for the past 5 years (i.e., ACT, SAT), and a non-refundable processing fee. Important: All SIF scholarships offered also require additional application materials. You must check the requirements for each scholarship to be sure your application packet is complete. Incomplete application packets will not be considered.

All application packets must be postmarked by February 29, 2016 to be considered. Remember to check all scholarship eligibility and application requirements before applying for any Sons of Italy Foundation® Scholarship.
