The sexiest language in the world is Italian, as shown by the study conducted by Preply, which compiled the ranking by measuring the increase in heart rate of participants subjected to listening to various languages. Italian recorded a 23 percent increase in beats per minute. Second place for Portuguese (20 percent), third for French and Greek (18 percent).
The figure on the world's most sensual language is among some of the most curious 'language' records released by the language learning platform Preply has released. Among the language records, there are also negative ones. Australia is the country with the highest number of critically endangered languages: 133. Italy ranks 35th among countries for endangered languages, with some language realities to be monitored carefully.
Among these, the sad record for the most endangered national dialect, with only 200,000 speakers, goes to Vivaro-Alpine, a dialect of the Occitan language spoken in Guardia Piemontese (CS) and some Occitan valleys in Piedmont. In contrast, Romagnolo, a Gallo-Italic dialect peculiar to Romagna and northern Marche with 1.5 million speakers, is among the "threatened" languages, as is Sardinian Logudorese, spoken by 500,000 people.
