Get a chance to meet chef Mario Batali — and feast on a buffet dinner of a few of his recipes. Batali will host a culinary demo and book signing at 5 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Orlando Museum of Art, 2416 N. Mills Ave. in Orlando. The menu includes beet salad with baby spinach and goat cheese; chilled pea and scallion soup; cheese tortellini with kale pesto; rigatoni with grandma's sparerib sauce; shrimp stew from puglia; chicken scarpariello; carrots with cumin, honey and ancho chiles; creamy kale gratin; carrot, hazelnut and cinger cake; and almond and honey brittle.
The evening will also include a book signing. Batali has written eleven cookbooks including the James Beard award winning, “Molto Italiano: 327 Simple Italian Recipes” (2005) and the New York Times Bestseller “Mario Batali Italian Grill” (2007). Batali is a co-host of ABC’s The Chew, which will be filming in Walt Disney World’s Epcot Oct. 4-6 for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. The chef co-owns restaurants all over the world, from New York City to Singapore.
