With balloons in front of the store to celebrate, Pastosa of West Brighton reopened Wednesday morning. It had closed briefly after a fire in the early morning of July 10. Now, it’s business as usual on what is known as “Pasta Day” at the store, located at 764 Forest Avenue. On this day of the week the D’Antuono family includes several gluten-free preparations among the options.
Along with fresh sausages, mozzarella made daily and a broad selection of ready-to-eat foods, the store is known for its well-stocked cheese department. Unique on Staten Island, this showcase features selections from around the world with unusual styles in continuous rotations of inventory.
