"This is a great opportunity," Pennella said. "I'll get to see and learn about new areas. Everybody talks about Rome, but this is different. I'll visit the town of Narni and other local spots."
Pennella will study culture, history and language in the Umbria region in central Italy from July 12-15. Her trip is part of a summer program with the Italian American Committee on Education. The nonprofit promotes Italian culture and language in the tristate area.
