The summer of 2018 holds great promise for six students from Hylton High School who will study in Italy for three weeks. An academic immersion program will give them first-hand experiences in the contemporary culture of Italy and enhance their understanding of the history of the language. The students are enrolled in Hylton’s Center for International Studies and Languages.
The students and Italian Advanced Placement (AP) teacher Claudia Deferre were honored during a prizegiving ceremony held at the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC. The students are among hundreds who took the Italian AP exam in high school.
