Dear friends,

After more than ten years as the International Italian Students Association (IISA), we have decided to join forces with the Berkeley Italian Network (BIN), an informal network of Italian students and researchers at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and, together, form the 'Italian Society at Berkeley'.

With this new unified organization, we will work toward developing and strengthening academic, cultural and professional connections and exchanges between the UC Berkeley/LBNL Italian and non-Italian communities.

We will continue to offer movie screenings as we have done in the past, but we will also be organizing social and networking events, research symposia and public debates, events which will promote stronger and more productive relations and exchanges between UC Berkeley and Italy, as well as encourage the integration of newly-arrived Italians with the UC Berkeley/LBNL communities.
