Last March 16 on the occasion of Italian Design Day, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy in Miami opened the exhibition "Fashion is Female: Lights on Italian Design as Cultural Legacy." Organized in collaboration with Istituto Marangoni Miami, the exhibition pays tribute to the creativity, artistic sensibility and design excellence of Italian fashion.

The exhibition-all under the banner of Made in Italy-exhibits the creations of eight renowned designers who have profoundly contributed to enriching Italy's artistic and artisanal heritage. Prestigious garments by Elsa Schiaparelli, Sorelle Fontana, Fernanda Gattinoni, Mila Schon, Krizia, Lella Curiel, Laura Biagiotti and Miuccia Prada are put in dialogue with elements of light design and interior design provided by some of the most famous Italian companies in the field, including Flos, Foscarini, Artemide Baleri Italia and Kartell.

Schools and universities interested in the exhibition can visit the Italian Cultural Institute during the month of April by taking advantage of a short guided tour to be arranged in advance with the Consulate General.

The exhibition is open to the public daily, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations required at +305 3746322 (1026).
