November in South Florida is the perfect time to launch the Social Season in the Palm Beaches and with it, the second annual Concorso Ferrari Palm Beach. This Concurs d’Elegance is an event created by the Palm Beach Chapter featuring a field of sixty-five classic and modern, member-owned Ferrari. Experienced FCA judges examined the cars and awards were presented according to IAC/PFA standards.

“We couldn’t ask for a better day or a more perfect setting” said Chuck Butte, event Co-Chair and Chapter President. Hosted on the green at the Abacoa Golf Club, guests enjoyed a day of camaraderie while learning more about their cars, visiting sponsor tents and dining in the clubhouse.

The Concorso honored POST (the Pediatric Oncology Support Team) who shared the details of the important work that they do with children and their families to help them cope with the heartbreaking effects of childhood cancer.

Ferrari of Palm Beach provided a beautiful reception area where guests could lounge, purchase apparel and licensed merchandise as well as enjoy a full view of the spectacular array of Maranello’s finest super cars. Scott Shrader, event Co-Chair/Chapter President elect, David Noznesky, event Field Chair/Chapter Vice President and the entire Chapter Board and volunteers worked tirelessly to create a memorable event. The event committee insured every detail was covered.

Platino, Oro and Argento ribbons were awarded and major award trophies were presented. The judges took special care as they singled out several entrants for special recognition. This was a tough job as every registered Ferrari was special.

Greg Jones took Best of Show and Platino with his beautiful 1963, 250 Lusso. Don Bartz took La Coppa Per Cilindri Classico (Best Classic 12 Cylinder) with his 1984, 512 BBi. Tim Stanford took La Coppa Per Otto Cilindri Classico (Best Classic 8 Cylinder) with his 1986 328 GTS. Rocco Mangel took La Coppa Per Otto Cilindri Moderno (Best Modern 8 Cylinder) with his 1999 355 Berlinetta. Glenn Simon took La Coppa Per Sei Cilindri (Best 6 Cylinder) with his 1970 Dino 246 GT L-Series. The Preservation Cup was won by Amy Noznesky with her 2003, 360 Modena. Glen Simon was awarded the Scuderia Cup as he demonstrates his avid love of classic Ferrari and willingness to share their beauty with others in support of the Concorso.

Several students and graduates of McPherson College assisted the judges to learn more about the automotive evaluation process. The Ferrari Club of America provides broad-based support to McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. FCA members may offer their support through a variety of means as outlined in the FCA website under Palm Beach Chapter

“About Us”. The school stands alone as the only institute to provide a bachelor’s degree in Restoration Technology. Their program provides students with many advantages in the collector car industry by creating internships with national museums and restoration shops, in-depth learning and dedicated instructors. The day concluded with the Concorso signature “Enzo Ferrari Engine Start-up Salute” and departure parade. The Palm Beach Chapter looks forward to 2020 and the next edition of the Concorso Ferrari Palm Beach!
