Less known is, however, that Dante's poetry inspired and affected emotionally and artistically the most famous painters and sculptors throughout centuries.

Dr. Smodlaka will lead us on journey through Dante's Hell with some 80 artworks by artists from the 15th to the 20th century. Through the most remarkable episodes we will follow how the tragic destiny of sinners in the Hell - place of eternal damnation- inspired their creative imagination and how they envisioned and depicted Hell's horrors.
