Floating plastic garbage 'state' to make entrance at UN

The artist behind the Garbage Patch State - a country without borders made of plastic detritus that floats in the oceans - is debuting with an installation in the lobby of the United Nations (UN) headquarters on September 29.
Designer, architect and artist Maria Cristina Finucci is making her artistic and environmental statement coincide with a UN General Assembly in New York and the Italian presidency of the European Union.
