Santina C. (Sandra) (Tanasi) Bellantuono, 81, of New Britain, Conn., died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Hartford Hospital. Santina was born in New Britain, and was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Angelina (Gionfriddo) Tanasi. She worked as the director for the YWCA for several years. Santina was a member of St. Maurice R.C. Church, Sons of Italy, AARP, and was a former police matron for the City of New Britain Police Dept. She enjoyed cooking and also catered many charitable events, not to mention being president of the supper club at the Brickhouse Café. Santina enjoyed life to the fullest; especially her beloved family.
Santina is survived by her son, Daniel Bellantuono of New Britain; her daughter, Angela Lanza and her husband, Thomas, of Hebron, Conn.; her four grandchildren, Jennifer, Kathryn and Thomas Lanza and Donato Bellantuono and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Santina was predeceased by her husband, Donato Bellantuono and her two brothers, Joseph and Paul Tanasi Sr.
